Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic disorder that affects 2% of the U.S. population. It usually appears as thick, red or white flaky patches. It most often appears on the elbows, knees or mid-section, and scalp though it can appear anywhere on the body. There are several different types of psoriasis, which one of our providers will diagnose in order to prescribe treatment.
Moderate to severe psoriasis can be associated with systemic disease including arthritis, diabetes, and coronary artery disease. Your physician will work with you to determine the best treatment, including topical, oral, injectable medications including the class of drug known as biologics.
Eczema
Eczema can describe a variety of itchy, red, and scaly rashes. Eczema can range from minor to severe and can show up on any part of the body. The rashes can lead to infections. Eczema is not contagious.
